MOTION PHONOTOP, movement and sound, have been the main topic of research, labs and perfomances at Tanz Atelier Wien since the beginning of 2010. “Fusznoten …” was the season’s highlight.

Inspired by Friederike Mayröcker’s new book “ich bin in der Anstalt. Fusznoten zu einem nichtgeschriebenen Werk”, textual fragments from the author’s intellectual world were amalgamated with sound, music and dance into a gesamtkunstwerk (synthesis of the arts).

The production was shown at the former Jesuit theatre in the Aula der Wissenschaften right in the middle of Vienna. Since it was restored by the architect Rudolf Prohazka in 2006, it is used as a venue for artistic encounters and the transfer of knowledge. Its modern and yet at the same time historical ambience is the ideal background for the space-text-choreography created by Sebastian Prantl.

At the premiere on October 15th, Friederike Mayröcker read personally. Her charismatic presence in the act of reading was the starting point for a unique choreographic reading of her work by Sebastian Prantl and his dancers. In the course of the performance the five protagonists, each of them from a different cultural context, established relationships between themselves, textual fragments, movement and sound. The pianist Cecilia Li played pieces by Debussy, Satie and Scriabin which were complemented by further music material, e.g. by American composer David Lang.

The performance was a charity event in favor of a school for hearing-impaired children in Vienna (Bundesinstitut für Gehörlosenbildung). The proceeds are used to support dance, movement and literature projects for the students.

Inspirado por el nuevo libro «ich bin de Friederike Mayröcker in der Anstalt. Fusznoten zu einem nichtgeschriebenen Werk «, fragmentos textuales de mundo intelectual de la autora se fusionaron con el sonido, la música y la danza en una Gesamtkunstwerk (síntesis de las artes). La producción se presentó en el antiguo teatro jesuita en el Aula der Wissenschaften justo en el centro de Viena. Desde que fue restaurado por el arquitecto Rudolf Prohazka en 2006, se utiliza como sede de encuentros artísticos y la transferencia de conocimiento.  Es el fondo ideal para el espacio de texto coreografía creada por Sebastian Prantl. En el estreno el 15 de octubre, Friederike Mayröcker leyó ella misma su obra. Su presencia carismática en el acto fue el punto de partida para una lectura coreográfica única de su trabajo por Sebastian Prantl y sus bailarines. En el curso de la ejecución de los cinco protagonistas, cada uno de ellos a partir de un contexto cultural diferente, las relaciones que suceden entre ellos, con fragmentos textuales, movimiento y sonido establecidos. El pianista Cecilia Li interpretó piezas de Debussy, Satie y Scriabin que se complementan con material adicional de música, por ejemplo, por el compositor estadounidense David Lang. La actuación fue un evento de caridad en favor de una escuela para niños con discapacidad auditiva en Viena (Bundesinstitut für Gehörlosenbildung). Los fondos se utilizarán para apoyar la danza, el movimiento y la literatura proyectos para los estudiantes.
