About me – From Dance to Classical Pilates in Girona

I am Antonio Izquierdo, performer, choreographer, movement therapist and future Classical Pilates teacher in Girona.
I come from the world of contemporary dance and the performing arts, with more than twenty years of experience exploring the body, expression and awareness.
I have worked on international stages, trained dancers, and supported creative and therapeutic processes with artists, children and people searching for authentic movement.
My path weaves together dance, Pilates, yoga, psycho-energetic kinesiology and NLP, building a holistic vision of the body as an instrument of transformation.
Conscious Pilates
My approach to Classical Pilates is born from inner listening, respect for each person’s rhythm, and the cultivation of presence.
It is not only about strengthening the body, but about inhabiting it with awareness, reconnecting structure, energy and emotion.
Drawing on my background in dance, experiential anatomy and energetic techniques, I support processes of deep bodily transformation, where physical alignment also becomes energetic and mental balance.
For me, Pilates is:
a path of self-knowledge through the body,
a tool to release limiting patterns
a space of integration, strength and inner beauty.
I am currently in the process of certification in the Classical Pilates method, following the lineage of Kathryn Ross-Nash and the mentorship of Ruth Basté in Girona.

Services (coming soon)
I am developing a line of work focused on Classical Pilates with a conscious approach, aimed at artists, creatives and people interested in holistic wellbeing.
Soon I will be offering:
Individual and group Pilates classes.
Pilates for artists and movement professionals.
Workshops in conscious movement and breathing.
Body–energy therapeutic sessions.
My experience in the performing arts and dance projects deeply informs the way I understand the body and presence within the Pilates method.
Philosophy
I see the body as a temple and a space of wisdom.
Each practice is an opportunity to observe, align and transform from a place of sensitivity.
My approach weaves together art, technique and soul, seeking a genuine balance between precision and freedom.
“Conscious movement is a form of prayer; the body is its language.”
I share reflections and insights on my Blog / Movement Journal, a space where I explore the relationship between body, awareness and the Pilates method.
